一直在製造鐵鑄造廠的岩手縣南部鐵器, 繼承傳統方法製作的鐵瓶和茶具備受矚目，實用的炊具則以新技術製成。

在鋼瓶內部形成氧化膜以防止生鏽的“金屬塞”技術是南部鐵器的起源。內部也是鐵做。
